Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has assured the Mount Kenya region of his continued leadership and guidance, despite his recent impeachment and replacement by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki.
Speaking on Sunday, Gachagua expressed his commitment to working with religious leaders, the business community, and professionals to chart the region’s future course.
Gachagua emphasized the need for unity in Mount Kenya, reminding residents not to overlook the challenges and perceived marginalization they have faced under the Kenya Kwanza administration.

“We must remain united and remember the mistreatment we’ve endured,” he stated, calling for solidarity as the region navigates its current political landscape.
His statements come amidst growing dissatisfaction within Mount Kenya, with many leaders feeling sidelined despite their support in the last election.
Gachagua’s remarks also signal his intention to maintain a strong voice for the region, even as power dynamics in the Kenya Kwanza government shift.
