Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has intensified his consultative political engagements by hosting back-to-back meetings with leaders from Embu and Laikipia counties at his Wamunyoro residence.

On Friday, May 2, 2025, Gachagua met a high-powered delegation from Embu County, led by Manyatta MP and Young Parliamentarians Association Chairman Hon. Gitonga Mukunji. Other notable attendees included Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara and aspiring Embu politician Steve Simba.

Gachagua described the meeting as part of his continued commitment to people-centred, consultative leadership, sharing photos of the leaders in deep discussion within the serene compound of his Nyeri home.

“Extensive consultation with the people of Embu County led by Hon. Gitonga Mukunji underscores my commitment to a consultative approach to issues affecting Kenyans,” Gachagua posted on his Facebook page.

He termed the forum a “listening session,” where Embu residents’ issues were presented through their elected leaders, adding that his door remains open to inclusive dialogue.

“I have heard the people of Embu County. I will be with you every step of the way towards a better Kenya where no one is left behind,” he affirmed.

The meeting also showcased new branding at the Wamunyoro residence, including a striking red-and-white sign reading “I LOVE WAMUNYORO”, signaling Gachagua’s effort to establish his home as a hub for political dialogue.

In a related development, Gachagua earlier hosted a delegation of leaders from Laikipia County on Monday, April 28. The group included Laikipia Senator John Kinyua, former Woman Representative Cate Waruguru, and several members of the County Assembly led by County Secretary Koinange Wahome.

“It was an engaging discussion focused on the development of our beloved county and identifying the pathways forward,” Gachagua said of the Laikipia meeting.

He noted that the talks went beyond county matters, touching on broader strategies to shape the future of the nation through unity, fairness, and equitable development.

The former Deputy President has been ramping up a series of strategic consultative meetings across Mt. Kenya counties, a move widely seen as part of his growing political realignment efforts ahead of 2027.
