Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been taken ill.
Gachagua was due for testifying and examination at the Senate in his impeachment motion, but he did not show up.
His lawyer, Senior Counsel Paul Muite, said Gachagua suddenly fell ill moments before the resumptions of the Senate sitting and had been rushed to the hospital.
Muite asked Senate Speaker Amason Kingi to give them more time to assess the situation of Gachagua.
"My proposal is that you give me the rest of the day to have an assessment of the DPs situation and come back by 5pm after seeing him and speaking to the doctor," said Muite.
