The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has officially received the final report from the FKF Transition Ad Hoc Committee, marking the successful conclusion of the committee’s mandate.

Chaired by FKF Vice President McDonald Mariga, the seven-member committee was established by the National Executive Council (NEC) on December 21, 2024, with the task of overseeing a seamless transition within the federation.

Over the past several weeks, the committee conducted an in-depth review of FKF’s governance structures, financial management, human resources, and legal framework, pinpointing crucial areas in need of reform.

The final report, submitted to FKF President Hussein Mohammed on January 31, outlines a strategic plan aimed at strengthening institutional integrity, ensuring operational continuity, and preparing FKF’s leadership for long-term success.

The report will now be sent to NEC for validation before moving forward with the implementation of its recommendations.

Key goals of the committee included:

  • Facilitating Operational Continuity
  • Establishing robust governance structures
  • Preserving Institutional Integrity
  • Preparing the Incoming Leadership
  • Building Capacity
  • Commissioning a forensic audit to boost transparency and accountability

FKF President Hussein Mohammed praised the committee for its hard work and reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to enacting reforms that will foster sustainable growth in Kenyan football.

“The FKF Transition Ad Hoc Committee has been pivotal in identifying areas that need improvement to ensure greater efficiency and good governance,” said President Mohammed. “We appreciate their efforts and will now present the report to NEC for validation before moving forward with its implementation.”
