Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Head of Media and Communications, Kenn Okaka, has stepped down from his position following the election of new leadership last Saturday.
In a letter to FKF acting CEO Patrick Korir, Okaka announced he would take a one-month leave and resign from his role, effective January 9, 2025.
Okaka had supported immediate former FKF President Nick Mwendwa, who contested for the deputy position alongside Doris Petra but were defeated by Hussein Mohammed and McDonald Mariga.
“I have no regrets supporting a friend, especially someone who has profoundly impacted my life. Loyalty is priceless,” Okaka stated.
“I wish Hussein and Mariga the best as they navigate the complexities of Kenyan football. We’ll be watching from the sidelines, applauding good work and critiquing mediocrity.”
Other FKF officials who served under Mwendwa and have resigned include Steven Otieno, the former Head of Security and CAF Stadium Security Officer, and Betty Meeme, who was Mwendwa’s personal assistant.
