Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has taken a humorous jab at his longtime friend and former Attorney General Justin Muturi, for not reaching out to him for a formal handover.
Kuria, who served under the previous administration during interview with Citizen TV, quipped that despite their years of friendship, Muturi has yet to make the courtesy call.
“Justin Muturi has not found it fit to call me even for a handover. Muturi is my friend of many years. You cannot be what young people are calling ‘kipendekezi’. I cannot pendekeza myself. It must be an invitation to do a handover,” he said.
Kuria added ,”I was brought up with some mannerisms which don’t allow me to force myself on people,” subtly hinting at the old-fashioned etiquette that still governs his approach.
He further called called on his friend and political counterpart, former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, to shift focus from celebration to action.
Kuria expressed concern over the current state of affairs, urging Joho to prioritize productivity and economic growth.

“I hope my good friend Joho will stop celebrating and get down to work. I think we don’t have the luxury of celebration.” He emphasized the importance of production and export, warning that without concrete efforts in these areas, the challenges faced in June could be just the beginning.
Kuria’s remarks come amid growing economic concerns and the need for effective leadership to steer the country toward stability. “If we don’t produce or export, all these things we are talking about Gen Zs, whatever happened this June will be a picnic—you will remember my words,” he cautioned.
