Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa has announced that the opposition is currently forming a powerful coalition that he believes will successfully challenge President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election.
The coalition, Wamalwa said, will replicate the 2002 force that successfully delivered the presidency to the late former president Mwai Kibaki.
The DAP-K leader mentioned that the former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi is already in their team and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i will be joining them soon.
"We are assembling a team that will send Ruto home in the first round. Justin Muturi joined our team, Fred Matiang'i is joining our team. The team is coming together," said Wamalwa.
"Martha Karua is already in our team. You see that 2002 team coming back together, and we are rebuilding the NARC moment for 2027," Wamalwa added.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka are also among the leaders planning strategies to unseat Ruto in 2027.
