England forward Michelle Agyemang has confirmed she has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and will miss the remainder of the season.
The 19-year-old, who is on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion from Arsenal, sustained the injury in a non-contact incident during the Lionesses’ 3-0 win over Australia.
She had been on the pitch for just 13 minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute before being carried off on a stretcher.
Both Brighton and Arsenal will collaborate on her rehabilitation programme, supported by England and the Football Association.
Agyemang was one of England’s standout performers during their Euro 2025 triumph, scoring crucial goals off the bench in the quarter-final against Sweden and the semi-final against Italy.
Her performances earned her a nomination for the Kopa Trophy, awarded to the world’s best under-21 women’s player.
Before the injury, Agyemang had started five of Brighton’s six Women’s Super League matches this season.
