Endebess Murder Suspect

A suspect who was connected to the murder of 17-year-old Form Four student, Rael Cheptoek Kaboi, was arrested in Endebess after evading capture for several days.

The suspect known by the name Mike Wabwire Semera, is currently under custody for the murder of Rael Cheptoek Kaboi, a student at Nai Girls Secondary School.

Rael’s body was found in a nearby farm, about 700 meters away from her mother’s residence in Mowlem area of Kiptogot location, Trans Nzoia County, on the morning of January 30. The body of the victim was found by other students who were going to school.

Her body showed signs that she had been assaulted. The area was sealed off by the police as they carried out investigations. Her body was taken to Kijana Wamalwa Referral Hospital Mortuary for an autopsy to establish the cause of death.

It was revealed that Rael had left her home at 5:45 a.m. to walk about 1 km to school. Sadly Rael did not make it to school. At about 6:30 a.m. her friends found her body as they were heading to class.

Police said that the suspect had crossed into Uganda through Suam to escape arrest. The suspect was later tracked down and is currently held at Endebess Police Station expected to undergo an arraignment soon.
