Several tourists are stranded at Nairobi National Park following delays in paying for services via the eCitizen platform.

Reports have since emerged purporting that the park entry fee payment option on the eCitizen platform has failed.

However, speaking to this publication, an eCitizen IT department employee privy to the matter dismissed the downtime reports, saying the platform is working smoothly.

The source clarified that the delay in payments for the park entry fee was coming from the mobile money payment service provider, Safaricom.

He said the telco is working to resolve the issue and restore normalcy.

"It could be a network issue from the payment service provider... but the eCitizen platform is working normally. The payment service provider is currently working to resolve the issue," said the source.
