Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale on Sunday presided over the closing ceremony of a 30-day Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) course at Masjid Al-Nurein in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

The program, led by renowned scholar Sheikh Dr. Khader Hassan Ahmed from Hargeisa, Somaliland, equipped 250 students with deeper knowledge of Fiqh — the science of deriving practical rulings from the Quran and Sunnah to guide daily life.

Participants also benefited from sessions with prominent Kenyan scholars, including Sheikh Mustafa Hajji Harun and Sheikh Mohammed Ahmed Umal, covering areas such as worship, family law, business, and ethics.

Speaking during the event, Duale commended the initiative, saying it had strengthened the participants’ grasp of Islamic principles and the art of legal reasoning in everyday life.

The ceremony was graced by several leaders, among them Mandera Deputy Governor Dr. Ali Maalim Mohamud and Members of Parliament including host MP Yusuf Hassan (Kamukunji), Adan Daud (Wajir East), Hussein Barre (Tarbaj), Maj (Rtd) Bashir Abdullahi (Mandera North), Mohammed Abdi (Lafey), and nominated MP Abdisirat Khalif.
