Environment Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has criticised senior Kenya Kwanza leaders publicly opposing and disrespecting President William Ruto, saying their actions undermine the presidency.
Speaking during the 47th graduation ceremony at Londiani Forestry College on Friday, September 13, Duale insisted that the presidency is a symbol of national unity and ought to be respected.
The Environment boss wondered why some Kenya Kwanza leaders are vocal in insulting Ruto yet they were all part of the campaign that brought him to power in the 2022 polls.
Duale insisted that they collectively committed themselves to the president’s manifesto and it is unfair to place all the burden on the president.
"If you want to be respected by those above you, you must also show respect. So, I ask Kenya Kwanza leaders, we were all with the president; we campaigned with him. We collectively committed ourselves to the president's manifesto. Today, you cannot hold a position in government and at the same time contradict and say it is only the president who must deliver. No. All of us must deliver for the people of Kenya. As for me, I assist the president," he added.
