Comedian Dr. Ofweneke has set the record straight regarding his absence at Prince Indah’s widely discussed traditional ceremony. Amid swirling speculation and fan theories, Ofweneke offered clarity and reassurance to fans curious about why he was a no-show.

Speaking candidly, the comedian dismissed rumours of any bad blood between him and the Ohangla star. In fact, he revealed that their friendship remains strong—so much so that he made a significant contribution to support the event.

“I sent Indah half a million shillings,” he stated. “There’s no negativity between us – we’re good friends.”

Ofweneke also took a moment to send a warm and heartfelt message to the singer, light-heartedly urging for better communication in the future.

“Prince Indah, my brother – I’d really appreciate it if next time you could tell me about your wedding in advance, even before anyone else, and I’ll definitely make time to attend,” he said with a smile.

He further clarified the nature of the viral event, explaining that it was not a wedding as many had assumed.

“Guys, it wasn’t a wedding, and I don’t think many people have fully understood that,” he said. “It was a ‘Nyondo’, which is similar to a ruracio – a traditional dowry-paying ceremony. The wedding comes afterwards.”

Addressing the buzz surrounding those who were notably absent, Ofweneke acknowledged the concern but insisted that his absence had a simple explanation.

“I know there was a lot of concern about the people who weren’t present – and yes, I was one of them,” he said. “People have come up with all sorts of theories, but the real reason I didn’t attend is because I had another event on the same day.”
