The Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat will resume his duties today, Monday, July 14, after being cleared in blogger Albert Ojwang’s murder case.
According to Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, an investigation carried out by the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) found Lagat not culpable in Ojwang’s killing.
“I hope to see him back at the office today because he has been cleared by all the investigations,” said Kanja.
The DIG had stepped aside to allow investigation into the murder.
Ojwang was killed at Central Police Station in Nairobi after his arrest in Homa Bay for allegedly defaming Lagat.
