Diana Marua has opened up about the hurt she experienced due to body-shaming comments during her pregnancy. Reflecting on the criticism, she shared her thoughts while posting a throwback photo that captured her pregnancy journey.
The image, a throwback from seven years ago, shows Diana at around 90kgs, as she reminisces about a photoshoot she did to capture the beauty of her baby bump. Alongside the picture, Diana wrote, “Seven years ago, Snapchat reminded me of a day like this. I was 90kgs here, documenting the precious moments of my baby bump. Just a month later, I held my little Heaven in my arms. Pregnancy humbled me in ways I never imagined—no job, no clear dreams, no direction. I was criticized, with some people even calling me ‘Shosh,’ but thinking back, some of the comments were too much. Keyboard warriors had their say.”
Despite the negativity, Diana expressed pride in how she navigated that challenging time. “God had a plan for me all along. It was just a matter of time. I had the right person beside me—my biggest supporter. I embraced the changes, stopped worrying about others’ opinions, and trusted the journey. God guided my steps, and everything fell into place.”
She concluded her post by sharing a recent photo taken just two days ago, writing, “Slide 2 was taken two days ago. There was never a moment when I wasn’t proud of the woman I was becoming.”
Diana’s message was a powerful reminder to trust one’s journey and embrace personal growth, regardless of external judgment. She ended her post by wishing everyone a happy and positive new week.
