Departed Ulinzi Starlets Coach “Klopp” Laid to Rest in Kibwezi

Songs and dance rent the air as Ulinzi Starlets FC head coach Jospeh Wambua Mwanza “Klopp” was laid to rest in Kibwezi, Makueni County on Saturday.

Military officers were the pallbearers in the funeral attended by hundreds of football players, coaches and supporters.

Mwanza, 39 died on September 20 after he battled a long illness.

Mwanza wo had been with Starlets since 2018 was described as a mentor and “a guiding light and inspiration to everyone in the Ulinzi Starlets family”. 

Ulinzi Stars eulogised him saying under his leadership, the team achieved incredible milestones and fostered a spirit of unity, resilience, and passion for the game.

“His dedication and commitment to excellence will leave an everlasting impact on the lives of the players, staff, Kenya football fraternity and all who had the privilege of knowing him,” the club said in a tribute.

He left a widow and two children.
