Public Service and Human Capital Development Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening learning institutions through improved infrastructure and social support programs aimed at enhancing the quality of education across the country.
Speaking during the commissioning of a new science laboratory and a Thanksgiving Service at Kaplelartet Senior School in Sigowet Sub-County, Kericho County, the Cabinet Secretary said the government remains focused on creating a conducive learning environment that enables students to excel academically and develop holistically.
Ruku noted that investments in educational infrastructure are critical in equipping learners with the skills and knowledge needed to compete in a rapidly changing world. He said modern facilities such as science laboratories play a key role in improving the quality of science education by providing students with practical learning opportunities.
“The government is committed to providing social and infrastructural support to learning institutions to allow students to concentrate on learning and physical development,” said Ruku.
The event brought together leaders from the national and county levels, including Senate Majority Leader , Kericho Woman Representative , Sigowet/Soin Member of Parliament , and Presidential Advisor and former Cabinet Secretary . Members of County Assemblies and grassroots leaders also attended the ceremony.
Leaders at the event lauded the development, saying the new laboratory will enhance science learning and improve academic outcomes for students at the institution.
The commissioning of the facility forms part of broader government efforts to expand access to quality education and equip schools with the infrastructure necessary to nurture future generations of professionals and innovators.
