The fifth edition of the County Assembly Sports Association (CASA) games has kicked off at the Masinde Muliro grounds in Bungoma County, gathering County Assembly Members from across Kenya to engage in a variety of sports.
These games aim to foster unity and camaraderie among the different County Assemblies.
The three-day championship themed ‘Fostering Inclusivity and Diversity in County Sports and Cultural Events’ has representation from all the 47 counties in Kenya competing in sporting activities that include football, volleyball, pool, and athletics.
The vibrant opening ceremony featured a parade of participants, many dressed in traditional attire that showcased their counties’ cultural diversity.

During the event, Peter Imwatok, Chairman of the CASA Games Organising Committee, and Philemon Sabulei, Chairperson of the County Assemblies Forum (CAF) and Speaker of the Elgeyo-Marakwet County Assembly, praised the initiative as a valuable means to promote unity and collaboration among County Assembly members.
As the games unfolded, the focus on friendship and networking led to strengthened bonds among participants, highlighting that the event transcends mere competition, serving as a platform for relationship-building among the devolved units.
The CASA games at Masinde Muliro grounds were a resounding success, with participants eagerly anticipating next year’s event.
