Kenya’s entertainment and influencer space is united in celebration after 22-year-old environmental activist Truphena Muthoni achieved a historic milestone by hugging a tree for 72 hours non-stop, a powerful record aimed at raising awareness on conservation, mental health, and disability inclusion.
Her bold stand has not only captured national attention but also drawn massive love from top Kenyan celebrities—musicians, influencers, and public figures who have hailed her as a modern-day heroine.
One of the first to react was popular musician Bahati, who shared Muthoni’s photo with an emotional tribute, calling on fans to “drop some hearts for this heroine.” His message, accompanied by a heartfelt emoji-filled caption, amplified Muthoni’s feat to his millions of followers.
Social media personality Baby Top (Muthoni) also joined the celebrations with a cheerful post announcing that Muthoni had received KSh 1 million from OdiBets. In her playful message, she praised Muthoni’s determination and humorously added that she didn’t expect any “maitho” but hoped for two bottles of Manyatta Pineapple Cider in return.
Gospel icon Mercy Masika delivered one of the most powerful tributes, describing Muthoni as “the face of courage and determination…a warrior not in arms but intelligence of purpose.” Masika celebrated her for standing fearlessly in defense of the environment and for speaking volumes through action rather than words. “We celebrate you,” she wrote, applauding Muthoni’s unwavering dedication.
As Muthoni’s accomplishment continues to trend, Kenyans online have declared her a symbol of youthful activism, resilience, and hope for a greener future.
