Cardi B has reached a major milestone in her defamation lawsuit against media personality Tasha K, securing a $1.2 million repayment agreement. According to Rolling Stone, a judge officially approved the settlement on February 24, which outlines a structured repayment plan where Tasha K will pay the amount in monthly installments over the next five years. This arrangement covers part of the $4 million defamation judgment that Cardi B won in 2022, though the rapper can still pursue the remaining balance once the five years are up.
In addition to the financial repayment plan, Tasha K has agreed to stop making any “derogatory, disparaging, or defamatory” comments about Cardi B or her family, whether on social media, podcasts, or other platforms. However, the settlement does not impose similar restrictions on Cardi B, allowing her the freedom to speak out about Tasha K if she chooses.
This legal dispute began when Tasha K spread false claims about Cardi B, including accusations that the rapper had herpes, used drugs, and worked as a prostitute. The court sided with Cardi B, awarding her $4 million in damages. While this agreement addresses part of the judgment, Cardi B still has the right to seek the rest of the amount if Tasha K fails to meet the terms of the settlement. This case serves as a reminder of the serious legal consequences for spreading false and harmful information.
