Media personality Betty Kyallo has condemned parents who abuse their children in the name of discipline, calling for those responsible to be accountable.
In a statement, Betty expressed concern over a videos circulating on social media showing children allegedly experiencing brutality and violence at the hands of their parents or guardians.
She said children should be given full protection, love and safety despite the harsh conditions we are living in.
“It’s honestly very sad the number of brutality and violence cases against children being posted online by their very parents,”Betty said in a statement.
She called for accountability from parents and guardians of children who are being mistreated, stating that those in an unsafe environment should be held accountable for.
“Innocent children are living under very harsh conditions because of people who are actually meant to care and protect them. Those parents, relatives, neighbors etc must be held accountable and punished,” she added.
Her concerns come amid the circulation of a video showing alleged child abuse, where the disturbing footage exposes vulnerable children to harm.
She called on the public not to remain silent when such suspected cases occur in the society and emphasized that people should take action when such incident happen.
“Let’s not be quiet if you suspect any form of child abuse. Do something if you realize any form of abuse against children,” she said.
