Ben Affleck is finally breaking his silence on his split from Jennifer Lopez, offering a straightforward perspective on their much-discussed breakup.
More than three months after finalizing their divorce, the Good Will Hunting star reflected on the end of their two-year marriage. Despite the public’s fascination with their relationship—one that spanned decades, from their early 2000s engagement to their rekindled romance in 2021—Affleck insists that their breakup isn’t as dramatic as many might think.
“There’s a tendency to look at breakups and want to identify root causes or something,” he explained in a recent interview with GQ. “The truth is much more ordinary than people would believe or would find interesting.”
While he acknowledged that he and Lopez had different views on navigating fame, he was quick to dismiss any speculation of a scandal.
“There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue,” he said, shutting down rumors of a messy separation.
