Kenyan actor, producer and content creator Alex Mathenge has announced his plans to quit social media and sell his accounts to pursue a simple and conventional lifestyle.
He stated that anyone or any company interested in buying his account should contact him, as he is tired of life in the public eye and would prefer to have a regular job that allows him to enjoy without demands of his public persona.
“I am quitting social media because of WOMEN! I just want to be in a normal job like anyone else, behind a desk and be happy in the evening. Women brought me down, I don’t want social media anymore,” Mathenge said in a statement.
Mathenge responded to questions about his state of mind and personal journey, stating he feels he is mentally well.
“For those asking, I am making this decision while at my best mental capacity. I am very sober! This is the second year of being sober! 20 months of sobriety and loving it,” Mathenge added.
On TikTok, Mathenge has 418.1K followers and 2.1m likes. Instagram account has 871K followers on his main profile and 105K on secondary page. His YouTube channel has 251K subscribers; together, these accounts accumulate more than 1.6 million followers.
Alex Mathenge has not revealed further his plans after leaving social media, though he indicated he is looking toward a quieter environment away from the limelight.
