The Kenya Association of Music Producers (KAMP) announced the organization’s transformation to “KAMP Copyright and Related Rights Limited” following the passing of a resolution at the recent 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 2nd October, 2024.

The following key resolutions were passed by KAMP members: Definition of “Member”: Aligning to their commitment to inclusivity, they amended the definition of “Member” to reflect the latest updates in the Company’s Memorandum and Articles of Association, adopted on April 5, 2024.

This change ensures that our membership accurately represents the vibrant community we serve.

Proposed name change of the company: KAMP officially changed its name to Kamp Copyright and Related Rights Limited and the same effected through a certificate of change of name, attached herewith, under reference number, PVTCN-LA1Y8ZLY.

New membership registration rollout: Kamp Copyright and Related Rights Limited formally commenced new membership registration drive, starting with performers.

This initiative is critical in enhancing sufficient domestic representation of performers of sound recordings and audiovisual works, and will reinforce dedication to supporting the class of right holders in safeguarding their interests.

Distribution Framework for Performers: In a landmark decision, they approved a royalty distribution framework of 50:50 share between performers and producers of sound recordings. indeed, this resolution underscores their commitment to fair compensation to performers.

New Auditors Approved: The Members approved the appointment of new auditors, Grant Thornton, a Tier 2 audit firm of international repute and who committed to support the organization in enhancing our transparency and accountability as we chart the new path as Kamp Copyright and Related Rights Limited.
