Elon Musk has announced that the end of Tesla Cybertruck is in mid 2027, with the company coming to end of production. He said the move is to make room for increased Cybercab production.
“Tesla will be winding down production of the Cybertruck at Gigafactory Texas around the middle of next year to make room for increased Cybercab production,” Musk said on X.
Tesla vehicles tumbled 49% in the first two months of 2025 even as overall sales of EVs grew.
The vehicle was also plagued by quality-control issues, with a handful of recalls within months of its debut.
Despite the anticipation, the Cybertruck never caught on with most buyers, with its sales declined from the moment it hit the market, with its sales declining to 48% from the year 2024 to 2025. From January through September 2026, the sales were down to 28%, according to Kelley Blue Book.
Tesla sold 38,965 Cybertrucks in 2024, though that number fell to just 20,237 in 2025, with this year selling only 11,586 Cybertrucks in the first quarter of the 2026.
