A court has summoned West Pokot County Assembly Speaker Fredrick Kaptui Plimo and two other accused persons to appear for plea-taking on November 5, 2026, in a case involving the alleged loss of KSh260 million from Eco-Pillar Sacco Society Limited.
Plimo, Paul Lokitari Ywapamoi and Francis Atodosia were absent when the matter came up in court. The court warned that warrants of arrest could be issued if they fail to comply with the summons.
The nine accused persons are alleged to have conspired to defraud the Sacco of KSh260,008,100 between 2018 and 2025 through manipulated transaction systems, fictitious loans, fraudulent accounts and unauthorised transfers to personal bank accounts.
The accused include former senior Sacco officials, among them chief executive officers, finance officers and ICT officers, as well as Kodich Ward MCA Leonard Pchakas an Domoita.
Six accused persons appeared in court and denied the charges. They face various offences, including conspiracy to defraud, stealing by servant, cheating, unauthorised interference with a computer system and abuse of office.
The court directed that a ruling on their bond terms be delivered on November 2, 2026. They were remanded pending the ruling.
The prosecution was led by Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Patrick Okango, alongside other prosecution counsel.
