Director of Public Prosecutions Renson Ingonga has called for stronger collaboration among criminal justice agencies to improve policing accountability and restore public confidence in Kenya’s justice system.
Ingonga made the call during an inter-agency collaboration on data and learning oversight and an Executive Committee retreat convened by the International Justice Mission (IJM) in Naivasha.
He emphasised the need for reliable data, quality investigations and coordinated institutional leadership to promote professional policing and strengthen accountability across law enforcement agencies.
The DPP noted that successful prosecutions depend on thorough investigations, proper evidence gathering, accurate record-keeping, timely referrals and effective coordination among criminal justice institutions.
According to Ingonga, addressing weaknesses in these processes is essential to ensuring the effective administration of justice and holding institutions accountable for their roles in the criminal justice system.
