Kenya Police FC came from a goal down to defeat Mathare United 2-1 in a pre-season friendly played on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Police Sacco Grounds.
Mathare United took control of the contest in the 30th minute when David Simiyu found the back of the net against his parent club, giving the visitors a 1-0 advantage.
The scoreline remained unchanged until the break, with Mathare United holding onto their lead despite pressure from the hosts.
Kenya Police FC returned for the second half with greater intensity and eventually found the equaliser in the 68th minute. Star striker Elvis Rupia converted to bring the law enforcers level at 1-1.
The hosts continued pressing for a winner and were rewarded in the 82nd minute when Kalifa Traore struck past the Mathare United goalkeeper to complete the comeback and give Kenya Police FC a 2-1 lead.
The friendly offered both teams an opportunity to assess their squads, test tactical approaches and build match fitness ahead of the new competitive season.
