Construction of the Boma Yangu Marigat Estate is progressing steadily as the Government seeks to address rising demand for affordable housing in the rapidly growing town of Marigat, Baringo South.
According to Principal Secretary for Interior Raymond Omollo, the town’s agricultural success and strategic location along major transit routes have driven population growth, increasing housing demand among agricultural workers, traders and government officials.
The development, located just off the Nakuru–Sigor Highway, was launched by President William Ruto, who laid the foundation stone in October 2025.
Construction of four residential blocks, two Block A and two Block B, is advancing from the structural frame stage into upper-floor and finishing works. Each block will rise nine floors, comprising a ground floor and nine additional levels.
The master-planned estate will feature an on-site kindergarten, clubhouse with a swimming pool, community social hall and eight commercial stalls designed to support local businesses.
Other planned amenities include paved walkways, children’s play areas, landscaped open spaces, secure parking, a perimeter fence, a central powerhouse and designated waste management facilities.
Through the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration, the Government says affordable housing remains key to developing safer, cohesive and well-planned communities.
