President William Ruto has mourned the death of Amal Mghoi, the young daughter of Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana and his wife, Mwanaisha Chidzuga.

In a condolence message shared on X on Sunday, September 13, Ruto described Amal’s death as an untimely loss and extended his sympathies to her parents, family and friends.

“My heartfelt condolences to Senator Danson Mungatana and your dear wife, Mwanaisha Chidzuga, following the untimely passing of your beloved daughter, Amal Mghoi,” Ruto said.

The President said losing a child was a pain that was difficult to measure as he joined the family in mourning.

“The loss of a child is a sorrow beyond measure. At this profoundly difficult moment, I join your family, friends and all who knew and loved Amal in mourning a young life taken far too soon,” he added.

Ruto prayed for strength and comfort for the family as they come to terms with the loss.

“May God grant you and your family strength, comfort and peace, and may Amal’s soul rest in eternal peace,” the President said.

Amal’s death was announced by the family on Sunday, with reports indicating that she had battled health complications since birth.

The family said she had received treatment both in Kenya and abroad during her eight years.

Her death has since attracted messages of condolence from leaders and other Kenyans who have expressed sympathy with the Mungatana family.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be communicated by the family as they mourn the loss of their daughter.
