Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has commended Milai Group of Schools in Moiben, Uasin Gishu County, for its contribution to education and talent development.
Murkomen spoke during the school’s Prayer Day and Thanksgiving Ceremony, where he also commissioned the Koitalel Multipurpose Hall.
He described Milai Group of Schools as a centre of excellence that is nurturing young people through knowledge, discipline, talent development and strong values.
The CS wished Grade 6 and Grade 9 candidates success as they prepare for their forthcoming national assessments. He also recognised the contribution of the school’s director, Eng. Walter Ogola, parents and other stakeholders towards the institution’s growth.
Murkomen said the Kenya Kwanza administration remains committed to strengthening the country’s education sector through increased investment in infrastructure, teachers and curriculum reforms.
He noted that the government has employed more than 100,000 teachers and constructed over 23,000 classrooms across the country.
The CS further said the government was streamlining the Competency-Based Education curriculum to improve learning outcomes.
He added that efforts were underway to implement a student-centred, needs-based higher education financing model aimed at ensuring financial challenges do not prevent Kenyan children from accessing higher education.
