Three suspected drug traffickers have been arrested in Narok after detectives from the National Anti-Narcotics Investigations Bureau (NANIB) seized cannabis sativa valued at approximately Sh3.3 million.
The suspects identified as Joel Rimin Koisikir, Hassan Mukaria Jackson, and Robert Turgut Kipkoech were apprehended during a joint operation by detectives in the area of a quarry near Narok town.
According to NANIB, the operation was conducted following credible intelligence indicating that makeshift structures in the area were being used to conceal and facilitate the distribution of narcotics.
During the raid, police recovered 19 parcels of cannabis weighing 118. 6 kg. The narcotics are estimated to have a street value of Sh3,358,000.
In addition, police recoverd different kinds of packing materials that were used in packaging and distributing the drugs.
The three suspects remain in custody as detectives complete processing ahead of their arraignment in court.
The seized cannabis and other recovered materials have been secured and will be presented as exhibits as investigations into the suspected trafficking network continue.
