President William Ruto has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in education, saying the quality of human capital developed today will determine Kenya’s future.
Speaking in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, after presiding over a pass-out parade for Kenya Defence Forces, the head of state said his government is taking steps to increase access to excellent education and teach students necessary skills.
The President pointed out the government during four years, has recruited 100, 000 new teachers and built 23, 000 classrooms.
Ruto also said that the Government was building student hostel and dormitory to get more students as well as improve learning environment in institutions.
President Ruto further stated that the new higher education financing model is one of the key areas the government is dealing with through a public-private partnership and that its aim will be not to deny students who can’t afford fees to have equal access to opportunities.
“We have a new higher education financing model that is ensuring that no student is left behind because of their background.” said President Ruto
With investing, he indicated that the country will give young Kenyans the capacity and skills they need to transform Kenya into a modern, inclusive and prosperous developed, country economy.
During the visit, Ruto handed over a bus to Moi Barracks Senior School and announced plans to construct a multipurpose hall and additional dormitory to accommodate more students.
