Kenya and India have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral security cooperation following a courtesy visit by India’s High Commissioner to Kenya to Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja at the National Police Service Headquarters in Nairobi.
The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration in law enforcement, counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, intelligence sharing, capacity building, and the fight against transnational crime.
Inspector General Kanja said Kenya values its longstanding partnership with India and emphasized the importance of closer cooperation in addressing emerging security threats through joint training, information sharing, and the exchange of best practices.
“Kenya remains committed to strengthening its partnership with India in advancing regional and global security through enhanced cooperation, knowledge sharing, and capacity building,” Kanja said.
The Indian High Commissioner reaffirmed India’s commitment to supporting Kenya’s security sector, noting that the two countries continue to enjoy strong diplomatic ties.
“India values its enduring friendship with Kenya and looks forward to expanding collaboration in security, technology and professional training for the mutual benefit of our two nations,” the envoy said.
