Jovial And Otile Brown

Kenyan musician Jovial has accused musician Otile Brown of failing to pay her for their collaboration and blocking her career growth.

Otile Brown has responded back to Jovial’s allegations, stating that he has spent several years without receiving publishing royalties because he lacked adequate knowledge of his music business.

He said he has only worked with professionals who have helped him begin recovering some of the money owed to him.

Speaking in an interview, Jovial claimed that the success of their hit collaboration “Such Kinda Love,” was struggling financially and living modest conditions in Mirema, while not receiving her share of the earnings generated by the song.

“Nilikuwa nalala chini Mirema, “Such Kind of Love” ikitoka kwa sababu tumefanya kazi ila kuna split shit but I don’t get anything,” Jovial said.

On the other hand, Otile also claimed he made personal sacrifices to support Jovial by paying her hospital bills when she gave birth and arranged a VIP transport after her delivery.

He conducted a DNA test to prove that Jovial’s child was not his, as rumors had circulated claiming he was the father of the child. He further accused Jovial of releasing a song he had written without his permission, calling a breach of trust.

“Ukweli ni kwamba wewe ni jeuri, mbishi na huna busara kabisa, uswahilu mwingi unatumia hisia kufaanya waamuzi.”

Otile has maintained he consistently mentored Jovial, providing opportunities, financial support and creative guidance, only to feel betrayed by her accusations.
