More than 500 cyclists are expected to take part in the third leg of the 2025 LOOP Safari Gravel Series this Saturday at Hell’s Gate National Park, Naivasha.

The race is a UCI Gravel World Series Qualifier, drawing both elite and amateur riders eager to earn a spot at the UCI Gravel World Championships.

To qualify, riders must finish in the top 25% of their category, while the top three in each category earn automatic qualification.

The 120km race offers cash prizes to the top five male and female finishers, with winners receiving KES 20,000. Team winners will take home KES 125,000.

Amani Project COO Hanifa Said praised the event’s role in elevating regional talent and showcasing Kenya’s unique terrain.

LOOP CEO Eric Muriuki emphasized the company’s commitment to empowering athletes and promoting global opportunities through sport.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Hell’s Gate, the race route starts at Sulmac Village near Lake Naivasha and includes gravel, red clay, single track, and paved sections, with a challenging 30km stretch from kilometers 60 to 90.

Ugandan rider Jordan Schleck, unbeaten in the 2025 series so far, remains the favourite.

Having won the previous two legs and the 2024 series, he’ll look to defend his lead against strong contenders, including Dutch rider Hans Beckings, last year’s Naivasha winner.
