The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced a routine upgrade of its ICT systems, a move aimed at enhancing the reliability, security and performance of its services.
In a public notice issued on July 7, 2026, the Commission said the exercise will temporarily affect several online voter services, including public voter search services available through its online verification portal, voter transfers and changes of voter particulars.
However, the Commission assured Kenyans that the ongoing voter registration exercise at its 290 constituency offices across the country, Huduma Centres and the Customer Experience Centre at Anniversary Towers in Nairobi will continue without interruption.
The electoral body said the ICT upgrade forms part of its efforts to strengthen the efficiency and security of its digital systems ahead of future electoral activities.
“The Commission will communicate once the exercise is complete. We thank you for your understanding,” the notice stated.
The temporary disruption comes as the Commission continues with voter registration and other preparations aimed at improving access to electoral services for Kenyans.
