Embu County is poised for faster development now that the National Government and local leaders have recommitted themselves to fast-tracking priority development projects that will enhance the livelihoods of the people and create economic opportunities.
In a consultative forum convened at State House Nairobi by President William Ruto, he hosted county leaders under the chairmanship of Cecily Mbarire for the ongoing major programmes.
The meeting revealed various ongoing projects like Building of 5000 affordable houses, development of 12 modern markets and electricity connectivity to more than 10,000 households among others.
Priority projects included Kamburu and Kiambere Dam Water Supply Projects and road infrastructure projects.
Speaking in State House, Nairobi during a consultative meeting with Embu County leaders, led by Governor Cecily Mbarire president William Ruto stressed the importance of increased collaboration between the National Government, County Government, Members of Parliament and Members of County Assembly.
“We reviewed the progress of key development programmes across the county and agreed on measures to accelerate ongoing projects and give priority to investments” said President Ruto
Meetings agreed also to speed up existing projects and to focus investments which will boost Embu County economy, upgrade infrastructure and provide more access to certain facilities for residents of Embu County.
Trade will be stimulated, employment opportunities increased, water access enhanced and the general socio-economic wellbeing of the people of Embu improved.
