Murkomen with Embarambamba

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has reaffirmed the government’s support for Kenya’s creative industry, describing it as a key source of employment for young people and a platform for driving positive social change.

Speaking on Wednesday morning, Murkomen said he had met musician and comedian Christopher Nyangwara, popularly known as Embarambamba, at his office in Nairobi.

The entertainer was accompanied by Kisii County MP Doris Donya during the meeting, which focused on the role of creatives in shaping society.

Murkomen praised Embarambamba’s energy and his ability to connect with audiences across the country, noting that his influence makes him a unique cultural voice.

He urged the artist to use his wide reach to promote positive values, including fighting drug and alcohol abuse among young people. Murkomen also encouraged him to help nurture unity and social cohesion within communities through his content.
