Members of the Tanzanian Parliament have publicly praised Kenyan President William Ruto following his address to their legislature on Tuesday, May 5, while also expressing support for his possible re-election in 2027.
During the parliamentary session, the lawmakers said Kenyans made the right choice in electing Ruto in 2022 and expressed confidence that he could secure another term in the next general election.
Tanga MP Kassim Amari led the remarks, emphasizing strong ties between the two countries and calling for continued cooperation. He said the borders separating Kenya and Tanzania should not weaken their relationship, adding that both nations should continue treating each other as close partners.
He also extended greetings from the Tanzanian Parliament to Kenya, noting that the two countries share a long-standing bond. In his remarks directed at Ruto, Amari said Tanzania continues to stand with him and would support his political journey.
“You have chosen to believe in our President Samia Suluhu Hassan. Who are we not to pray for you so that you can win the next general elections?” he said.
The MP further read a Bible verse while offering prayers for Ruto ahead of the 2027 polls.
The comments came shortly after Ruto addressed the Tanzanian Parliament, where he praised President Samia Suluhu Hassan following her election victory in October 2025.
