Ayra Starr, one of the Afrobeats musicians, whose real name is Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, born in Cotonou, Benin and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, earned her a Grammy nomination putting her on the limelight with her authentic talent.
Ayra, known for her track “Damage,” took the music scene by storm again in 2022in her hit song “Rush,” which broke the international charts and earned her a Grammy nomination, making her global Afrobeats ambassador.
Recently, Ayra revealed she didn’t date in high school because she did not want anyone to call her their “ex.” She reflects her own independence and desire to define her narrative, a theme echoed in her music, which champions empowerment, self –love and authenticity.
