Democratic for Citizens Party(DCP), Rigathi Gachagua has called for peace during the burial of member of parliament David Kiaraho at Ol Kalou, Nyandarua county.
Gachagua made a statement saying that the president should complete his term in good and time for the next general election would be determined in the ballot.
The memorial service comes at a time of heightened political tension in the Mt. Kenya region following Gachagua’s impeachment in October 2024, an event that triggered a deep split among leaders in the region. Since then, factions aligned to both Gachagua and President Ruto have been engaged in an intense struggle to consolidate grassroots support.
Gachagua has plead with the president to take action on illegal brew being sold in Ol Kalou. Secondly, take action on the goons who attacked different churches within Kenya.
He has called the president to warn the western people and Kimani Ichungwa top insulting the former president Uhuru Kenyatta and give him all the respect he deserve.
The president has responded back saying, “I do not need anyone’s permission to go anywhere in Kenya,” and Kenya its for everyone. He also said, these people are speaking to me here with words, I will answer them with actions.
