Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum of Kenya, Opiyo Wandayi, has commissioned a new administration and outpatient block at the Momoniot Health Centre, a project funded through the corporate social responsibility programme of Kenya Pipeline Company.
The facility, financed by the KPC Foundation, is expected to significantly improve access to healthcare services for residents of Chepseon Ward and neighbouring communities in Kipkelion East Constituency.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Wandayi said the new administration and outpatient block will help restore the health centre’s Level III status, enabling it to deliver expanded primary healthcare services.
The Energy CS noted that the upgraded facility will strengthen the provision of essential, preventive and outpatient medical services, easing pressure on nearby hospitals while improving healthcare access for local residents.
He also highlighted the importance of partnerships between national government institutions, state corporations and county governments in delivering community development projects.
According to Wandayi, such collaborations demonstrate how joint efforts between national and devolved units can produce tangible results that directly improve the welfare of citizens.
The project forms part of Kenya Pipeline Company’s CSR initiatives, which support community development programmes across the country, including health, education and environmental conservation projects.
Local leaders welcomed the new facility, noting that it will enhance healthcare service delivery while bringing quality medical services closer to residents in the rural parts of Kipkelion East.
