Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is set to depart the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Brazilian’s expected exit follows comments made last year by new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who said some players at the club were “not good enough” and “overpaid.”

Casemiro later responded by expressing his enduring affection for United, insisting his bond with the club would last a lifetime.

“It is not time to say goodbye; there are many more memories to create during the next four months,” the 33-year-old said.

Casemiro joined United from Real Madrid in 2022 for £70 million and has since made 146 appearances.

He played a key role in his debut season, scoring the opening goal in the 2023 Carabao Cup final victory over Newcastle, as United finished third in the Premier League.
