The Kenyan football fraternity is in mourning following the death of Justin Okiring, the former head coach of Trans Nzoia Falcons.

The sad news was confirmed on Tuesday in a statement released by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), prompting an outpouring of tributes from players, officials, and fans who remember him as a devoted servant of the game.

Okiring’s passing is a significant blow to grassroots football, particularly in Western Kenya, where he dedicated much of his career to developing young talent and building competitive teams despite limited resources.

While he may not have enjoyed the spotlight of top-flight football, his influence was deeply felt at the community level by those who worked closely with him.

In its statement, FKF paid tribute to Okiring’s commitment and humility, acknowledging his valuable contribution to the sport.

“The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) mourns the passing of Justin Okiring, former Head Coach of Trans Nzoia Falcons,” the federation said.

FKF noted that Okiring was highly respected within football circles, especially among the players he mentored during his time at Trans Nzoia Falcons.

Many young footballers credit him with instilling discipline, teamwork, and confidence in their abilities, even in challenging circumstances.

The federation also highlighted the lasting legacy he leaves behind, emphasizing that his dedication to Kenyan football will not be forgotten.

“Coach Okiring was a committed and respected servant of the game, whose contribution to Kenyan football will be remembered with gratitude,” the statement concluded.
