The alleged plan to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is gaining momentum, with the motion reportedly already in the precincts of the National Assembly.
Should the Gachagua ouster sail through, a section of leaders have fronted Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki to fill in the position and deputise President William Ruto.
They argue that Kindiki has what it takes to help President Ruto deliver his promises to the people of Kenya. He is deemed a more effective assistant to the president than the current one.
It is worth noting that pre the 2022 polls, Kindiki had been fronted to be Ruto’s running mate by the majority of the president’s allies, but it is reported the faction settled on Gachagua who was the second option.
With Kindiki as the deputy president, it is reported that Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa will be the Interior CS with Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro being named as the National Assembly Majority Leader.
