Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda has insisted that President William Ruto has nothing to do with his deputy Gigathi Gachagua’s alleged impeachment.

Jhanda said leaders from Mt Kenya and across Kenya have decided to oust Gachagua for their reasons, including the DP supposedly not supporting the government agenda.

The lawmaker said that even during the last UDA Parliamentary Group meeting, President Ruto did not want to hear anything to do with Gachagua’s impeachment.

"Let us separate President Ruto's hand in this impeachment thing. He has nothing to do with it, in fact, during our last PG, Ruto did not even want to hear anything to do with the impeachment of Gachagua. What Malala and the rest are saying that Ruto must endorse the impeachment motion is not true. Let us get the president away from all this," said Jhanda.

With the impeachment debate gaining momentum, Jhanda asked Gachagua to resign honorably before being ousted.
