Seventeen-year-old Lennart Karl continued his breakout run, scoring for the second consecutive game as Bayern Munich beat bottom-placed Borussia Monchengladbach 3–0 to maintain their flawless start to the Bundesliga season.

Karl, who became Bayern’s youngest-ever Champions League scorer in midweek against Club Brugge, sealed the win with a stunning strike into the top corner for his first Bundesliga goal.

Earlier, Joshua Kimmich opened the scoring in the 64th minute before Raphael Guerreiro doubled the lead five minutes later. Karl’s late finish ensured Bayern’s 13th straight win in all competitions, equalling AC Milan’s 1992/93 record for the best start by a top-five European side.

Borussia Monchengladbach played with 10 men from the 19th minute after Jens Castrop was sent off for a reckless challenge, while interim boss Eugen Polanski watched his side miss a penalty through Kevin Stoger.

It was a rare quiet night for Harry Kane, who failed to score or assist for the first time this season, though Bayern remain five points clear of RB Leipzig at the top.
