Kenyan online commentator Geoffrey Mosiria has condemned the growing frequency with which people post intimate and explicit videos on the internet, calling it a bad case of digital exploitation and moral decay.

In a heartfelt post on his social media, Mosiria reacted to a viral video of a Meru lady whose private moments were allegedly leaked. He commiserated with victims of such online leakages and stated, “Sometimes I don’t blame our ladies. Please, let’s not do this to them.”

Mosiria wondered why others upload such private videos, especially when there was trust initially. “Why upload such videos revealing her when she trusted you and did so secretly?” he asked. “Most of our women out there are suffering, blackmailed, and tricked by scammers they once trusted.”

He went on to challenge authorities to act strongly against cyber predators and even urged the public to act responsibly when surfing the Internet. “I call upon the police to investigate and take action. Let’s watch out for each other and be responsible in this cyber age.”

The outspoken critic concluded his message with a firm call to action to the public: “Stop digital space pollution!”

His remarks have since triggered responses on the internet, with the majority of netizens lauding his stand and agreeing that the internet is not to be used as a tool of humiliation or revenge.
