The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) recruitment exercise targeting General Duty Recruits and Defence Forces Constables across the country, which was launched on October 13, 2025, will conclude tomorrow.
The Vice Chief of the Defence Forces, Lieutenant General John Omenda, visited the recruitment centres in the Coastal Region and on his way he commended the staff involved in the selection process for upholding transparency, professionalism, and integrity during the entire exercise.
Omenda also expressed the KDF’s assurance to a fair and merit-based recruit process as the main goal is to get the right qualified and disciplined people to serve in Kenya’s military. According to him, the record turnout observed countrywide is a clear indication that young people are eager to serve their country.
In addition, the shortlisting for General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets, Specialist Officers, and Tradesmen and Women positions has been completed. Those who pass the selection stages will be informed in advance of their recruitment and interviews which will be held in November this year.
The annual KDF recruitment exercise is a part of the military’s plan to reinforce its forces and be ready for national security challenges
